  • Any way to use MIDI to control pan position and width independently in Synchron player? [bug]

I'm trying to control pan position and stereo width via MIDI but I can't figure out how to separate pan from width.  I can set width and control pan position via a CC assignment on the "Balance" controller but I can't figure out how to control the "width" controllers while keeping pan position fixed.

With the "Power Pan" controller, it seems I should be able to control the center circle independent of the two left and right circles.  But when I assign a CC to the center circle it affects the left and right circles as well and they respond in some weird fashion I can't quite make sense of.

How do I control pan and width independently via MIDI CC?

    Thanks

  • I figured it out - on the power panner the labels for "width" and "center" are not always correct.  In other words, sometimes when I click on the center circle it's labeled "width" and sometimes when I click on the left or right circle it's labeled "center".  I don't see any pattern to how it's incorrectly labeled but I think I've seen that at least one of the three control circles is always labeled incorrectly.  Hence my previous confusion.

The text appears to be correct.  So you just click around until you find one labeled "center" and then assign the MIDI CC you want for center (even if it's not the center control circle).  Then you click around until you find one labeled "width" and assign the MIDI CC you want for width (even if it's not one of the side control circles).  That seems to work.

So ignore which control circle you're clicking on and just read the text.  And keep clicking on control circles until you find the text for the control you're looking for.  They control circles seem to respond correctly after being assigned via the "read the text" method.

    Recommend a bug fix there...
