Hi Users,
I just opened a the box of Finale. I am a using Finale 27 and Windows 11.
The problem I encountered is when loading the VSL players, I receive a port conflict error. It is suggest that there is another VSL program already running.

I don't know about that error, but you'll want to use Vienna Ensemble to house the Synchron players. Finale only has 8 MIDI ports, so if you use Synchron directly, you'd be limited to 8 instruments
Hello Mark!
In order to be better able to help, we would need some more information.
- Which application gives you this error?
- What does the error message say exactly?
- What did you do exactly that triggers this error message?
- Can you share a screenshot?
Best regards,
Andi
Hello Mark!
I hope you don't mind that I answer the question that you have directed at Bill.
Yes, you can run 8 banks with 16 channels each in Finale with VE Pro. Normally it shouldn't be necessary to enter a server address. Just make sure that you start Vienna Ensemble Pro Server before you open the Vienna Ensemble Pro plugin interface. Then the open server should be offered to you in the plugin interface and you can select it by clicking it.
Best regards,
Andi
Hi Andi,
I tried using your method to run Finale and the server, but was not successful. I was being asked of an address. Here is a method I believe works for me.
******************************************
Run Finale as an "Administrator"
For convenience as a score, I loaded a XML file of one of my string quintets.
Select "Play FINALE using VST"
Open "VST Banks and Effects"
Select "Vienna Ensemble" and the "pen" Icon.
VE7 is now running. Use it to enter, modify save your instrument list.
In Finale, Press Playback
