Hi,
Just joined. About to purchase my first VSL library (Synchron-ized special edition bundle). Not a composer and I don't do this for a living. I'm primarily a guitarist with just enough keyboard technique to be dangerous.
Just wanted something entry-level but full featured to round out some of my acoustic guitar oriented compositions and fool around with some basic orchestrating for original piano-based compositions like Dan Fogelberg's "Paris Nocturne".
Wondering what anyone's thoughts are on this library bundle for my intended purpose? If it's a bit overkill, that's ok because I'd rather have a comfortable safety margin in terms of instruments and articulations than not.
I have a few other orchestral products from other developers but nothing this comprehensive. Each time I use them I always find something lacking in either articulation or a particular instrument voice. This bundle seems very complete.
I'm leaning toward this library mainly because of the sale price. I do have an iLok machine license for some other products. Will that suffice for this library or will I need to purchase a physical iLok USB Key?
Also, looking down the road, is there an upgrade path from this library to the higher end individual Synchron library products?
Thanks.
