  • dropped notes

    Hello,

i bought the SmartOrchestra and using it on a Mac Mini 2018 (i7 6-core, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD).

I thought, the Mac is powerfull enough for simple orchestra lines.... but.... when the number of used voices raise over 100 (and it happens when i play quickly several accords or repetitions) then some notes are dropped.....

It happens only in Bitwig 4.1x - not in the standalone Player.

Has anyone an idea, or experiences how i can solve this problem or i just need to buy an Mac M1 ????

    Thank

    Dirk

  • Hi Dirk,

If you have been eyeing the M1, go for it.

    The performance jump is incredible.

To improve your performance on the existing Mac Mini, you could increase the preload size in your Synchron Player Settings => Database, increase the sample buffer in your audio settings or/and make sure you are not using Velocity XFade. That should help!

    Best,
    Paul

  • ok, thanks. But increasing the sample buffer increases also the latency....  i think the only solution will be a Mac M1 but i wondering, how all other users could play this orchestra before the Mac M1 was availlabe..... ???
