  • My DAW can't find the VST

I purchased Whistler and installed it through the iLOK License Manager and Vienna Assistant.

Now I don't know how to actually get to the plugin.... I have Sony ACID (32 bit) and Cockos Reaper (64 bit) and both DAWs are not scanning the VST. I assume this is how it's supposed to work? Or is there a native client? If so, how do I start it? Could not find any information on this on the website.

In the Vienna Assistant setting I set up a path for VST2 to C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTplugins, and this folder is being scanned by both DAWs. However I can't see Whistler anywhere.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Did you download and install the VI Player?

  • I guess I figured it out. For some reason the Vienna Assistant was not showing all the other software that also needed to be installed. Reinstalled Vienna Assistant, then I could install the Vienna Instruments Pro etc.

Then it took me a while to figure out how I can use the plugin in my DAW. First I have to add the Vienna Ensemble as the plugin, then in there load Vienna Instruments Pro, and in there load Whistler. Very cumbersome, but it works now.

  • Vienna Ensemble is for loading multiple instances of VI. You can skip it if your just loading the Whistler. Just remember that VI and VI Pro are VST2 only
