  • Long saving times of VI Pro templates in VE Pro 7_iLok versions

    Dear VSL community,

I installed all iLok versions of my VSL softwares and libraries via the Vienna assistant.

All works fine, but when I open the VE Pro 7 standalone and insert an VI Pro instance that harbours an extensive template of articulations, it takes more than 30 seconds (!) to save this tiny VE Pro file (320 KB). There are no MIR Pro or automations included here. This has never happened with previous versions.

Somehow, this problem only occurs with (extensive) VI Pro templates but not with Synchron Playesr inserted.

Does anybody else have this problem, too? What might be the problem here?

Would highly appreciate, if someone would give me some suggestions how to solve this problem.

    Best,

    Maurice

  • Hello Maurice, I have same issue.. After migrating to iLOK versions of VE PRO and all my libraries the saving time and loading also has extremely extend.

Later on I will add my investigation for better description

  • I've also had long loading times since switching to iLok. The VSL demo project (... Force Awaken) was loaded after about 90 seconds before the changeover; now it takes about 12 minutes to load. I am using Cubase 12, Windows 10, Vienna Assistant, 2nd generation iLok keys.

  • OK. My invetigation.

    EXAMPLE:

    1. Instance (woodwinds ) 13 instruments (each of instrument has + 3 BUSes+2 "3nd party reverbs")

    is loading 38s !!!

On the old VEP it was in 5s.

When I have 6 Instances. it will take  2,5min saving.

When I open VEP plug in in Cubase to connect the instance it is not possible use the CONNECT button. It works only when I direct click on the NAME of the instance.

Deconnecting is also taking long time.

    I have Cubase 10.5

Same here, I have a large template in Dorico 4, covering a full orchestra spreaded over 10 instances in VE Pro.

Before the iLok conversion everything worked well, (auto)saving times were acceptable, but now after the conversion it may take up to 5 minutes to save.

Dorico is autosaving while I'm wrting this reply and has become unresponsive for at least 15 minutes now, so my work is gone, I'm afraid.😠

I can't find a solution on this forum or internet, or did I miss something?

Hi, there is one thing you can do to speed up things while working in Dorico.
In the tab of an instance of VEPro you see this sign: (!)
When you click on that sign, Dorico doesn't save any longer that instance.
So click on each of the (!) signs of the 10 tabs of all VEPro instances, and you will no longer be held up by the intermediate savings by Dorico.
WARNING: you have to save VEPro before closing it, because VEPro has to save now the instances, because Dorico doesn't do it any longer! In Windows you can save the VEPro instances by CTR + Shift + S (I am not familiar with Apple computers). And before you close VEPro you are asked if you want to save your save the Server Project.
    Hope that this helps.
