    There was a large thread about Copy Protection on the Northern Sound Source forum. It was suggested that VSL may not make the Pro Editon in Giga format. Can anyone confirm or deny this information?

    I am hoping that the Pro Editon and Symphonic Cube are in Giga format because I like Gigastudio and things are working well for me.

    I assume that the Pro Edition will come in GS format - will it be 2.5 or 3.0. I must admit I like working with GS too, because it has 64 ports in one program etc. - and I did a little testing of Kontakt recently and let me just say my testing didn't go well. So until I maybe get Kontakt working well, I don't see a better alternative to GS.

    But, I am sure Herb or others from the VSL team have more FACTS than guesses about this than me[:)]

    We will defenitely release the Pro Edition for Gigastudio, with or without copy protection.

    I'm sure, every developer sleeps better, when he knows his library is copyprotected, but I also agree in many points Bruce Richardson posted on Northern Sounds.

    I also agree with him, that most illegal copies are a result of free copies for "best friends". I'm sure that 99% of our customers are honest people and won't deal with our library. But I'm sure that everybody know the situation when you were asked for a best-friends copy. And here things could get out of control, because this best friend has less scruples to make another best-friends copies - and so on.

    If you take care, your investment is more valuable, and you enable us to develop more and better tools for your composing work in the future.

    Thank you Herb! That is the best news that I have heard all week!!

    I also would like to let everyone that I have *never* made copies of any samples that I have obtained.

    I was asked by a minister to make a copy of some stuff...of course I refused.

    I look forward to the day when the Symphonic cube is released.

    Esperlad - A MINISTER - is that like a priest... ?[[:)]])) or more like a prime/foreign minister etc. - if it was of the first kind - at least we can be sure he'll go to hell![[:)]]

    A minister in the United States is similar to a priest. They are sometimes called; preachers. They get ordained, but unlike priests, they usually get married.

    This guy who wanted free sounds also works in a barber shop. I have no idea if he ever got ordained...he makes many sexual remarks about women...I do not feel that this man has the best moral standards.

    I hope that everyone can encouage people to never make a copy of any sample set.
