  • Maximizing Instrument articulations and patches

Anyone have suggestions for using VEP7 to host templates with as many articulations and patches as possible?
I'm using Pro Tools, with 5 VEP instances full of 16 instruments each. To make full use of my libraries though, seems like I'd need 2-3x that. I'm working on TV scoring, so fast turn around, and from one master session will generate about 40 cues in an episode. So if you want a different piano on 2 different cues, the choice is to host one in the Pro Tools session, or to have 2 pianos in the VEP template, which can quickly get ungainly when you get into orchestra, synths, drumsets, etc. Keyswitching does a lot of it, but even with that to really get a versatile string section, you need multiple instances.

What do you do? Interested in wide template workflows!
