    I understand how to use key switches on a keyboard.
    I want to use my hardware controller instead.
    How is this done?

    I have searched far and wide but obviously not far enough.

    your controller should have a software that lets you configure the midi to send, in this case your keyswitches. You also need to make sure your synchron player is receiving midi from your controller in the midi preferences of the player (if standalone) or of your daw and tracks if you are using it in a sequencer like Logic, Cubase etc

    Controller is sending midi.
    For other CC in Synchron I only need to right click and midi learn (my controller has many hardware buttons)
    I'm asking what I need to do with respect to key switches for Synchron to receive the midi trigger.

    Hi slinky005, 

    MIDI is more than MIDI. Which controller data are you sending? 

    You can adjust the controllers for the available "dimension"/columns on top of each dimension.

    Midi is more than midi?
    "Controller is sending midi" meaning "is sending data".
    Data being sent is whatever I choose. So when I use one of the toggle buttons it's CC data.

    Why not use the pads and assign them to the note values corresponding to the key switches?

    ”Launchkey has 4 pad Custom Modes. To access these Custom Modes just hold Shift and then press any of the four Pad Mode Custom buttons. Pads can be configured to send MIDI notes, Program Changes messages and CC messages using Components.
