    What's the status of the whole MIR project? I haven't heard a thing in quite a while.

    I was thinking of getting something like Waves IR, but I'd rather not get it if MIR is coming out any time soon.

    By the way, does anyone know if the Waves IR library has multiple responses for each space? For example, do they have different positions on stage so we can place instruments at different spots, like with Gigapulse? Actually I still need to explore Gigapulse more too...

    Honestly, the MIR won't be a "product" in a few months, although we are ready to announce some astonishing news in the not so distant future.

    It is important to understand that the MIR will be much more than just an advanced convolution-reverb. It is meant to be an highly integrated, intuitive and techno-babble-free mixing-frontend for virtual orchestration, of course with our samples in mind. Waves' IR1 is great (or should I say: the impulse-responses supplied with IR1 are great) - but obviously far from a true multi-positional approach.

    Forgive my stupidification.... but I take it MR will be a convo-reverb like gigapulse? more bells and whistles than gigapulse tho?

    I, too, have been snooping around for updates on MIR. It sounds simply wonderful and quite promising. Goodness, if it's half as worthy as the VSL library itself, then it will no doubt be outstanding.

    These sorts of reverbs have made it impossible for me to use some of the other software reverbs usually packaged for convenience. I've never had a super high end outboard Lexicon or similar (without taking my mixes to a fully stocked studio for serious post-pro), but even Logic's Space Designer has been high enough in quality to spoil me. Howver, in this day and age it's really past time for some cross platform usability.

    Waves IR was once a consideration, and Altiverb 5 looks promising. Still, I look forward to MIR very much and wish Herb and the entire VSL team every success with the final phases of its development!
