    Hello,

    Just installed a demo of MIR Pro 24.   I'm pretty new to the mixing end of things and have one question to start with.  I have several synchron-ized libraries, which I know come with the instruments pre-placed out of the box and with adjustable reverb options.  If I decide to use MIR, should I disable all of the preset reverb settings that the synchronized products come with?  Do I go for the dryest signal I can get before going into MIR?  It seems like if I just put the out of the box sounds into MIR, it will be overboard.   Is MIR intended more for VI instruments?  I know they begin dry upon loading.

    I know there is probably a lot more to this, but I am just trying to get started with the trial and see what I can do.

    Yes, I always put Synchron sounds through MIR, just because I can. Turn off reverb and disable IR's first.

    As Lucy said..  ^^^

    One advantage of the synchronized libraries is that the source samples are in fact dry, like the VI series..and have IR's and synthetic reverb applied to them in the Synchron player mixer.  

    So start with a synchronized preset, turn off the IR stage positioning of each channel in the mixer.  Also at least turn off the reverb plugin on the mixer bus.  But you can also get rid fo the send from each mixer channel.  There might be some already provided mixer presets for each synchron preset, which disables IR, but in my experience some of them forget to turn off the reverb bus FX, or visa versa, so check it out always and make sure they are off.

    Also there is some concern about MIR expecting somewhat center panned material, but I can't remember now what the conclusion was as the best way to configure the mixer in Synchron, search the forum for some old threads about that.  Dietz is the expert that knows best on this.

    I've looked all over for a video on removing reverb from Synchron-ized instruments.

    Does anyone know if they have ever created a video that I can follow along with?

    Hi Sekrit_Studios,

    I don't think such a video exists, and I don't see the need for it. For most of our SYNCHRON-ized products, we have added a mixer preset called "99 MIR Unprocessed", which does all these changes for you.

    That image is GREATLY appreciated.  And, not all of us know about it.  I personally seek out videos due to ADHD, and how I absorb information.  Until you shared the image, i have have had no visual reference to know what some have said existed (the removal of synchron reverb).

    Some of us want that clean dry sound, and as customers (considering that it is a core portion of the libraries) it doesn't seem that it should have to be asked for visually, any more than people have to ask for nutritional information on cans.  If it is key to the product, It should be as readily shared as the "cool", "new" features because that is in fact what the product is, regardless of people's opinions on the matter.

    I am not attempting to be difficult.  I appreciate your time and attention on the matter.  I do admittedly get frustrated having to dig deep at times to find information, or visual references for key features though.
