  • Is it possible to create new Patches?

Hi, a very green newbie here so I apologise for the simple question.  I've searched and found no quick answer to this.

Is it possible to create new patches for use in your own new preset?  I've Volume 1 The Essential Orchestra which comes with some FX pad sound presets.  I'd like to layer a few different pad sounds with some celli.  Now (if I understand the process correctly) I could create a new preset by clicking on a pad preset.  Then I would click on the patches tab and add celli articulations patches from the patches list to the dimension slots in my new preset.  I'd like to then add other pad sounds but I can't add these because the pads don't have patches in the patch tab.  Is it possible to add to the patch list?

I hope I've described this in a way you can understand and again sorry if this is super simple.  I will say I'm just awed by my first steps into the world of VSL. As a student it's a big decision where to spend my limited funds but each time I use this player my smile gets bigger.

    Thanks for any help. Jennifer

  • Welcome Jennifer,

All the patches we used in the Smart Orchestra are available in the Patch Browser.

You can label the slots as you like, so maybe that's what caused the confusion?
When you select a slot, you can see the patch name in the left side of the EDIT window.

  • Hi Paul.

After your post and an hour of creating my own presets using the patches it's finally clicked!  I now understand the player a lot better and how the presets, patches, dimensions and articulations work together.

It's really sparked my creativity and I'm enjoying this so much!  I should have jumped on the 40% student sale a little while ago but still maybe Black Friday might conjure up something great.

Really appreciate your help, that nudge was all I needed. Thank you.  Jennifer
