Hi Dietz,
Thank you for your reply. That option is not selected in cubase. the thing that is troubling me is that when I turn off MIR Pro in VEP, the template functions as it should.
Thanks again

Hi Dietz,
Its Set to 2048 samples. It is not networked, everything is on the same machine. all the settings are currently normal, which is why its a bit baffling .
Thanks and Regards

Baffling indeed. :-/ ... might be time to get in contact with support@vsl.co.at, including a link to this thread and as much surrounding info as possible - maybe even a Cubase project that exhibits this issue on your system.
Kind regards,

Hello Everyone - I am having a somewhat similar strange problem with VEP 7, Cubase 11 now that I have upgraded to Big Sur (the latter much to my current regret) on a loaded Mac Pro desktop. What I am finding is that when I open Server and then load VEP7 in Cubase and then load an instrument (e.g. a Vienna Pro instrument), I can get Midi In and Audio out just fine if I am on the Cubase screen. But, as soon as I make VEP the primary screen, for example to change parameters in mixers or MIR, there is no midi or audio response. In fact, there seems to be a storage of midi data, because when I switch back to Cubase, there is about a 5 second delayed playing of the notes that I pressed while in the VEP7 screen.
I am totally baffled, never had this happen in Mojave. Any suggestions including mild wrist-slaps are welcome.
Thanks!

Hi Circlingkailasirclingkailas,
quoting myself from earlier in this thread:
Could it be that you have activated the Preference "Release ASIO-driver in the background" in Cubase?
Kind regards,

Dietz - That's it!! It works now, thanks for the prompt wrist-slap. Back in business.

Hey guys, One new thing I noticed, when I update the cubase version, I have to create a new template on VEP as well as on cubase for it to work for the above issue where the midi is sent out from cubase but isn't received by VEP if Mir pro is on. But when I re created the template from scratch and saved it in both the softwares, it starts working as it should and is good to go. Is this something you all have to do or am I doing something wrong? It was not the case with vep6 afaik because while I was using cubase 9 I had upgraded to 9.5 and didn't have to create a new template. Please let me know what you think? ( saving grace is that I have save channel sets in VEP so it's not a total nightmare but is still a lot of work to do 300 Odd channels every time) Thanks a bunch

This seems to be a different issue than the one discussed above. I have no idea how to deal with the issue from MIR Pro's point-of-view of view, to be honest, as it has no influence on VEP's MIDI-handling whatsoever.
... maybe time to write to support@vsl.co.at ...?
All the best,
