Ok, I'm closing this thread. I'm an idiot. I had a zone set up on my master keyboard to send multiple cc changes with slider controls and didn't realize I was also sending NOTE data 4 times to the same channel. No wonder it sounded like crap. Once I fixed this, VOILA, problem gone.
------------------------------------------
I use VSL 7 as a host for a number of libraries, connected to Cubase 11.
The piano tends to sound out of phase or hollow, particularly in the octave below middle c and an octave above.
There is no "piano body tone fullness" in that range.
I've heard the wonderful recordings, I'm not certain what I could do differently to remove this.
I've read a bit about phase issues with VST pianos and some recommend using a piano that was recorded mono.
Any suggestions? It's not the sound I fell in love with and want to use at this point and I've gotta think it's solvable.
