Can someone explain the reverbs in the Bösendorfer Upright

I’m a bit new to the Synchron pianos and haven’t found a manual for the Bösendorfer Upright. There are 3 places to adjust the reverb in the piano player and they all seem to be running as default on most presets. One on the Play page, one on the Mix page as well as one in a separate mixer channel. Was this one recorded in a completely dry space so that there are just added reverb to it and what are the various reverbs going on here?

I did figure it out, but would need to sit down in front of the Synchron player to work it out again! Will take a look and post back...but this is something that really *should* be documented. 

For such top notch --and expensive-- software not to have a decent manual is just bizarre.

Isn't it great to have some choice when it comes to reverb?

Here is the documentation of the implemented FX Reverbs you can insert in the mixer.
And this is the "standard" reverb we started with in the first version of Synchron Pianos (constantly improving our software for you).

This piano was recorded at Stage B in Synchron Stage Vienna, with multiple mics. More info on that in the Bösendorfer Upright Manual.

Absolutely, Paul. I just don't understand what the 3 different reverb knobs are doing. The one on the Play page seems to adjust the fader of the reverb FX channel on the Mix page. So that means that that knob is connected to the FX channel? But what about the Reverb level, decay, PreDly, Damp to the right of the mixer. Is that a second reverb?

=> That's correct.

=> No, those are independent, additional reverbs.

=> That's the reverb you are controlling on the PLAY page, with the more detailed controls.

I’m sorry but I still don’t understand, actually more confused now. Are there two different reverbs going on and what is controlling what reverb? Also, what’s the difference with these two reverbs?

Hello McArnes,

Yes, there are 3 different reverbs available.

1 on the MIX Page (with all the parameters), that can also be controlled from the PLAY page.

=> This is the first reverb that was available for the Synchron Pianos, to add some "artificial" reverb tail on top of the recorded microphones.

2 in the FX Tab of the MIX page. A PLATE reverb and a ROOM Reverb.

We are using different combinations in our presets, that is a good start to find out what those reverbs add to the sound.
