As you spend a lot of time making Expression Maps for Cubase for VI instruments I do not understand why they have not been converted/adapt for Dorico.
You have already done most of the job.
I have spend more than 10 000 € in VI instrument and in MIR ! how do you think I feel ! 😢
Is it a political reason ?

Converting a Cubase Expression Map to Dorico is just a mouse click. You can easily do that yourself. Preparing (and optimizing) Expression Maps for Dorico is more work and can't be done for more than hundred libraries (and more than thousand presets) within a short amount of time. Please understand that we need to evaluate the reception of our SYNCHRON-ized Special Edition Dorico Expression Maps first, before we can work on new ones. This has nothing to do with politics at all.

While trying to decide whether to switch to Dorico, one consideration was whether VSL would support VI and Synchon-ized libraries with Expression Maps and templates. I began to realise that it's much easier to do your own in Dorico than in Sibelius as well as being in many ways more powerful feature-wise since v3.5. That doesn't mean it's not appreciated what the VSL team are doing in bringing out their first Dorico maps and many will certainly find it a very useful starting point. Ultimately, though, individuals should take responsibility for their own programming to suit their own needs and nature of music being composed. I did use the Cubase maps initially for VI and the basics are in place but need some modifying, especially with the new features in recent months in Dorico.
I'm not sure what criteria will be used to judge the reception of the S-ized SE playback config. Every competent expression map for this library has value and a newcomer would be well advised to study several if available to see what most meets his/her way of using the library. Obviously something from VSL will have special authority but that doesn't have to mean it's the right approach for everyone.
On the "politics" of VI v Synchron, I will stay clear!
I do not agree with that statement, Andi. There are differences between the EMaps of Dorico and Cubase, and the import is far from going well in any case. Especially at the level of the default articulation.
Note: for example, this VSL EMaps does not import functionally into Dorico. It's not working. However, I have placed the Woodwinds Presets in my data file, and I have all the standard saxophones. Articulation map Hight, let's say for alto sax.

I know that these "Articulate Presets" from "Symphonic Riot" exist, but we haven't tested them and cannot support them.

VSL surely does not have to provide support for Articulate Presets, we provide support to our users ourselves 😊.
I agree that Cubase and Dorico Expression Maps are (unfortunately) indeed quite different (Dorico Maps being by now the more powerful ones) and we also had to create completely distinct Maps for each software from scratch in order to take advantage of their particular possibilities.

In fact, I am in communication with him (his name is Kai). I bought several of his Emaps, and his templates. I have to say it's pretty awesome. A huge job on his part, with very good manuals. He is of a very high standard. In addition, he helped me beyond supporting his products. Chic type. Concretely, there is an Expression map called "VSL Compatibility map". Not as refined as what it comes with its presets, but it's compatible with your VIpro Presets. For the saxophones of VI, so far, it's going very well. That's the best thing we have for Dorico.
ps. For all that is the VI collection, his work is wonderful and reliable. I use it for BRASS, CHAMBER STRING, etc.
