  • Synchron Installer Deleted Samples?

I just purchased the Synchron Special Edition Volumes 1&2, and I'm having some trouble installing the libraries.

I downloaded and installed some of the Vol 1 libraries, and after the installation I was asked to delete the installation files. I did figuring I would clear up some space, but I think that it deleted the samples themselves.

I'm able to open the Synchron Player within Cubase, but it doesn't find any libraries even when I direct it to the correct directory. The directory also does not have the samples I installed even I saw them there earlier while the library was downloading.

Did the installer delete the files or am I missing something?

  • I see now that the problem is that the installer isn't unpacking the .cab files left behind. I ran the Synchron Installer again and directed it to the correct package.info files but the .cab files still aren't being unpacked, unfortunately.

    Hello,

    These are our file formats:

    Vienna Instruments:
*.cab files are the installation files (can be deleted AFTER installation)
*:dat files are the sample content files

=> Sample Management is handled by the Directory Manager.

    Synchron Player:
*x and *.y files are the installation files (can be deleted AFTER installation)
*.vsynvolume files are the sample content files

=> Sample Management is handled by the DATABASE settings in the Synchron Player Preferences.

If that doesn't help, please contact us with some screenshots via support@vsl.co.at!

    Best,
    Paul

  • I got it working now, but I see that when the installer asks to delete the installation files, it deletes the actual samples as well.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

After installation is finished, you are being asked whether you want to delete the installation files (which will keep the installed files). If you confirm, only the installation files will be deleted.

In the Download Manager itself, you have 2 options, with mouseover descriptions.

    Best,
    Paul
