  • Greyed out buttons in Vienna Download Manager, only 91 GB of Boesendorfer Imperial full downloading

Hi, I'm in the process of downloading the Boesendorfer Imperial library. A couple quick questions...

I notice that all of the buttons across the top - "Pause download", "Start Download", etc. are greyed out while the download is happening. Is this normal? How would I go about pausing the download and then restarting it again later? (See screenshot)

Also, although the library is 295 GB (full version which I bought), I was only prompted by the DL Manager to download 2 sets of files that total ~91 GB: Y18_Boesendorfer_Imperial_Stereo_SPv2 and Y18_Boesendorfer_Imperial_Multi_SPv2. After these have downloaded, will I be prompted to download the remaining 200+ GB of samples in subsequent stages?

Final question - is it better to leave "Auto-Install" checked or unchecked?

Actually, really the final question: I attempted to download and install earlier in the day, then I read that EXFAT formatting on the SSD makes the d/l-installation process incredibly slow. So I moved the 700 GB of samples off the drive temporarily and formatted...this was after I had started the download process with auto-install checked. I'm hoping that didn't have any impact on the successful downloading of the full library now that I've started the process over again following the SSD erase/reformatting. I did make sure to click "Remove download and data" and even uninstalled and reinstalled the Installer app, then clicked "Add download" again to start fresh.

In the meantime, I'll leave these 91 GB worth of samples downloading overnight with auto-install checked - off to bed now. The avg download speed has settled in at 1.6 MB/s despite starting out at 11+ MB/s for the first few minutes, so will take another 9 hours for these 91 GB to finish downloading. Maybe this is related to the internet speed having slowed down a bit here to 40 Mbps.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/clarifications!

  • Welcome 145796,

We are using compression to make the downloads as small as possible.

Those compressed files will be extracted upon installation, you will see.

Regarding Auto-Install: If you leave it checked, the message to start installation will pop up, the second the download is finished.

The integrity of the downloaded files is checked by the Download Manager automagically, no worries there.

    Best,
    Paul

Thanks for clarifying, Paul! I didn't realize I was given the number 145796 for this first post in the forum. Guess I need to update my profile 😃

    Cheers
