I'm running a striped RAID configuration with a set of SSD's which contain my Synchron Libraries. I'm noticing that there is a large variance in test results when I run the "Rescan Speed" test in Settings>Database. The test results yield anywhere from 35MB/s to 150MB/s, which I find slightly odd. Is such a variance typical for an RAID/SSD or should I expect a more stable result? I'm running an 8192 preload size to avoid issues, which is fine, it just seems like I should be seeing a better result.
Additionally (a more in-depth question), does anyone have any experience or insight into the ideal stripe size for a RAID configuration (volume dedicated to sample libraries)? Will a smaller or larger stripe size play a role in performance, or is this not something that matters?
