Run the Vienna Synchron Pianos player. At the top right of the graphical interface, there is a row of five icons. One of them looks like a gear. If you click on that, it will open a window with three tabs in it. Click on the tabl called "Database".
In that window, at the top, there is a field labelled "User Presets Folder". That is the default location for the *.vsynpreset files that contain your custom presets. Paste them there.
After that, when you click on the folder icon in Synchron Pianos (last on the right) it will open a menu which contains "Factory" and "User". Your presets will be under "User".
I realized that there was something else I should have added.
OK, find the path shown in the "User Preset Folder" field. INSIDE that folder there is a subfolder called "VSL" and inside that subfolder will be one or more subfolders depending on what products you have. On my system, there are two, labelled "Vienna Synchron Player" and "Vienna Synchron Pianos". Inside the "Vienna Synchron Pianos" folder is yet another folder called "Presets".
That is where your Synchron Piano custom preset (*.vsynpreset) files go.
Sorry, this is not as complex as I'm making it sound.
I tried it.
it did not work.
the Player just closes when I click on the custom preset.
Hi everyone!
Try following workaround: Make sure all presets don't have any special characters in it like for example Umlaute (ä, ö, ü, ...). These cause the current version of the player to crash. We are working on a fix and will release it soon; in the meantime please rename the preset in the file explorer.
Thanks for reporting and helping to track this down!
Best, Ben
