  • Mac (Mojave): cannot see Vienna Synchron Pianos App in Launchpad

    Hello

I can see every VSL app in my Mac's launchpad (such as VI Pro, Vienna Ensemble Pro, Synchron Player) but Vienna Synchron Pianos App (v1413). I've tried about every trick, even moving the app from it's own folder to the base folder of programs, and even un- and reinstalling it. It just won't show in launchpad, nor can I search for it in launchpad by typing "vienna" or "synchron" etc.
Btw. - can't see it nor even add it in Mojave's security settings, where the normal Synchron player shows up.
Permissions of both the folder and the app itself are read&write for system and admin and just read for everyone.

Any idea, why I can't see it in launchpad? I have to manually browse to the app via finder. A bit annoying...

As a sidenote: LOVE the Blüthner, just the sound I have been searching for....

  • Just installed Vienna Synchron Player and Vienna Synchron Piano, and I got same problem on Catalina (10.15.4, ViennaSynchronPianos-macOS-1.1.1496 and ViennaSynchronPlayer-macOS-1.1.1906).

It seems that macOS recognizes Player and Piano as a same app so it shows only one app on the Launchpad. I tried to move Player app to somewhere (e.g. Desktop) and found that after moving the Player app to Desktop, Launchpad shows Piano app.

    The workaround is

    1. Move Player app to the location you want.
    2. Reset Launchpad by running following command in Terminal (WARNING: this command initializes order of apps on Launchpad, please reorder them after): defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool true;killall Dock
    3. Pin Launchpad.app on your Dock.
    4. Drag&Drop Player app into the Launchpad icon on Dock.
    5. You will find Player and Piano app on your Launchpad.
    6. After seeing Player and Piano apps on Launchpad, I could restore Player app to Application directory.

Hope this will work on your mac😀
