[SOLVED] Feature Request - EQ trim in-line for MIR Pro (muddy LF)

Hi VSL,

One thing that does get me from time to time is when I get a particularly muddy brass sound (or strings too) - which usually emanates from MIR Pro (which I generally have inline of the instrument channel as suggested) I cannot get rid of that muddiness for the MIR Pro for that particular instrument only.

If I tweak the EQ in MIR Pro room the whole Instance is affected (which is not what I want) and if I adjust EQ in the channel strip using a plugin then my clean signal (or any other aux buss) is affected too - which is not what I want.

So my request is for a simple inline EQ that is sent to MIRPro only - just a rolloff would do (it's always the bottom end that causes issues)

Hi Richard,

If you use MIR inside Vienna Ensemble you can route the reverberated signal to a bus and apply reverb only to it:

Hi Richard,

that's what MIR Pro's "RoomEQ" is meant to be used for. It will affect the wet signal only and thus leave your direct signal component untouched. You can create a bank of 32 (actually 33) different settings which you can assign to each instance. You can think of it as some kind of bus routing (which it isn't, but it makes it easier to understand).

I'll attach a screenshot to make things clearer.

Alternatively you can use the approach described by Ben in the message above, but only if you're using VE Pro as the plug-in host.

Thanks - I finally understand this!!

I had not been aware that you could choose different room eq curves for each instrument in that field that says room equaliser.

It has been one of hose areas of the software that I couldn't get my head around.
