VSL not shown in sibelius version 2020 Playback device

Hi 

I have a problem with Sibelius that i subscribe now:

it doesn't recognice Vienn ensemble as a playback device. vienna instrument is also not there.

i uninstalled and reinstalled sibelius as well as VE several times but the problem is still there.

I saw someone else write a similar article last time and I couldn't solve it.

Can someone explain in detail? Why can't I find VE vst or au and how can I get VSL to the playback device?

Basic question if you don't mind: did you install the VSL soundset? It's available on thi site in the "MyVSL" tab and in "Notation related": you'll find a "Sibelius: VSL Soundset Installer v.1.0.172 (macOS)" and clicking on it will download a .pkg you can open and will install the soundsets for Sibelius.

I already installed it but it doesn't work

And if you look at the attachment, there's nothing to add to the rescan feature in my Sibelius

What should i do in this situation?

Hello Keem!

Maybe Vienna Ensemble has been blacklisted by Sibelius at some point. Please try to rescan the plugins in the Sibelius menu Play/Setup/Audio Engine Options. Then restart your computer.

If this doesn't help, I would try delete the "Plogue Engine" folder from Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Avid/Sibelius/PlogueEngine.

The folder Users/Username/Library is hidden by default. To get access, go to the folder Users/Username and select Go to folder with the Finder. Then enter "Library".

After deleting the "Plogue Engine" folder, I would restart the computer.

You have written in a PM that you can't find the "Plogue Engine" folder. Can you send a screenshot to support@vsl.co.at showing the folder Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Avid/Sibelius?

Hello Andy,

I found and deleted the plogueEngine folder you mentioned.

But then another problem occurred.

As you can see in the attachment, VSL is getting an error in eLicenser Control.

As it is written, I tried installing again with the latest version.

But things don't get better.

I removed Synsopos from the Privacy setting and checked it again, but nothing changed.

 

What should you do in this situation?

Hello Keem!

Unfortunately the Sibelius team didn't yet include OS 10.15 entitlements that are necessary for us (and other plugins) in their latest software version for Mac OS. This means that on some computers with Mac OS 10.15 the Sibelius validation of our plugins can't get past this error message. The Sibelius team is currently working on a solution and we are helping them as good as we can. We hope that the next Sibelius update will fix this problem.

I'm sorry that I don't have better news on this matter at the moment.

Hello Keem!

It's the same with OS 10.14. As far as I know the problem didn't exist with OS 10.13. I would wait for the next Sibelius update.

I think that's not true.

Because VSL worked on the same version of 10.14 on my other Mac.

Take a look at the attachment.

I just installed a new one and didn't upgrade the version but it doesn't work. I think this is something weird.

The problem doesn't come up on all systems. If it's working on one computer that might have something to do with having earlier versions of Sibelius installed before updating to later versions.
