  • Hi GlobMeister,

Welcome to the forum! What an entrance!

What a pitty... we had such a nice chat this afternoon.

We were talking about troubles with Ableton... and you said how much you love the sound of the libraries.

Sorry to see you frustrated, but as you can see, we do care about our customers.

Please contact us BEFORE you are frustrated next time.

Hope things look different after a good night's sleep.

I will look out for your mail to support@vsl.co.at

    Best,
    Paul

    Hello Paul,

Yes, I was glad about that support. Still, If I follow all instructions on how to install your product, it shouldnt be so hard to get things working right? Why make things so complicated?

I know, I should be in bed by now, but I HAVE to get this to work...

Again, the support is great, but it should not be needed.

  • I have always found VSL to be fairly straight forward in terms of installment and usability. However as humans we have bad days and everything seems to go wrong for us, but in reality we just need some sleep zzz

FYI I have also found VSL customer support to be top-notch, best @mail them for technical support.

  • Hi Globmeister,

Just checked and couldn't find your email to support@vsl.co.at...

We can probably fix this in 2 minutes, but I'll need to know the steps you already took...

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi GlobMeister,

It has been a very long Black Friday and I need some sleep.

Will check for your mail tomorrow... as I haven't heard from you until now.

    Best,
    Paul

I'm very sorry to hear about your problems especially on Black Friday (it's not called "BLACK" for nothing you know) but I can also vouche for VSL support as they have always been professional and timely in the few issues I have had.  I hope you find a solution to your problem but as a bit of advice try not to contact any support, VSL or otherwise, when your frustrated because the frustrations tend to muddle up the issue, thus taking longer to fix, thus causing more frustration etc.

Simply put software pirates.  Unfortunately most of the hoops we customers have to jump through were created by the excrement who steal software and the urine who buy stolen software.  Long gone are the days when you could just download some professional software or, insert the DVD, install and happily go about your business enjoying your product quick and easy.

  • It's very important to always be very dramatic nowadays.

Installing VSL is a fairly simple and nearly fool-proof process in my experience ...

    It's not dramatic, It's frustration.

But anyway, with the help of Paul I managed to get everything working. Still not sure what caused all this trouble.
But turning off the Anti virus seemed to help, and also deleting all other folders that had anything to do with plug ins might have helped. No idea, but it works now, so I'm happy!

  • It is simple for people who know VSL. But compare it to Spectrasonics and you will find room for improvement.

Updates for Libraries, Expression maps etc. ... it is not so easy to be up to date compared with other developers. You always have to search the categories. Not a PITA but I hope that one day everything at VSL will updated as easy as in Omnisphere.

Edit: BTW I see an Update for the BBO. Is this for the free version or for the new one?

    Hi LAJ,

The Library Update is for the Free Big Bang Orchestra.

It is only restructuring the position of the BBO, so that it's in the same folder as the BBO: Andromeda.

I used to do a ton of work as a studio artist for hiphop/urban producers.  Any studio I went to, (unless it was one of the big famous ones) not a single one of them had legallly purchased plugins lol... All had the full Waves bundle and Omnisphere/Trillion... cracked.  It was absurd.

That said, I totally get why there are extra security steps in order to use the VSL products.  If they're not making money, then we're not really making and recording our own cutting-edge orchestral music. 😊
