  • Double attack problem on SYNCHRON CONCERT D-274?

Some notes seems to play twice around C6 when you hit it rapidly, and as for YAMAHA CFX,same problem with many notes above C6 especially on A6.

I've tried different presets but it still occurs, is there a way to solve or avoid this problem?

  • I also have this problem, noticed in the same range as you. Primarily on the Steinway, but it is possible to hear it on the Yamaha too. Also the Steinway seems to be skewed towards fff in its timbre. Or it has really hard hammers. I hope they can fix this problems.

  • Maybe the Repetition Smear-Effect? (I could not listen ... your Download is not working...)

Hey, I remember when I tried the first SY-Piano (CFX), that I was confused to hear the sound „fast-delayed“ when I played rapidly. So, I was looking at my RME-Interface and tried to find out the problem ... etc.

Then I took a look at the SY Piano Software and found the function „repetition smear“. I put it off. And the problem was gone.

  • Hi.

Having a hard time to hear what you are hearing, but then again, we're in the middle of the Black Friday Frenzy ;-).

Can you tell me which of those repetitions have a double attack?

    Best,
    Paul

  •

I could check the Donwload now. From my opinion ... it IS repetition smear.

  • As it turns out, what I’m hearing was the repetition smear. When on, those notes sounds like a double attack almost. Am I losing anything by turning off the repetition smear? Is there a way to keep it while minimizing this behavior?

  • Hi,

What do you need this function for anyway?

Sorry when my English is not so perfect. I'm translate with deepl :-)

  • Hello Paul,

I think I phrased my question wrong. That's because of my poor english...

What exactly does this function do?

    Best

    Georgy

  • i know this is old af, but i wanted to answer it cause apparently no one else did, the thing you call "double attack" are simply the higher overtones which are very pronounced on the modern steinway Ds (like the one that synchron has)

an old pianist in our university once said "modern steinways sound like two pianos resonating with each other" and that's surly what u n i are hearing right here

this is one of the qualities of the actual piano they have sampled
