Is it ok to buy SYNCHRON-ized SPECIAL EDITION packages as well as single instruments, or should I not mix?
What, then, is the difference in buying them in synchron package or through VI packages/single instruments?

the SYNCHRON-ized Special Editions are remastered Special Editions with additional instruments, articulations and new features in the Synchron Player.
You can mix them with single instruments from the VI series, but keep in mind that the instruments from the VI series were recorded dry, so you want to use reverb and panning to mix these instruments them together.

We have the Starter Packages at attractive prices: (Synchronized) Special Editions, Smart Orchestra and Smart Spheres.
Then there are the instruments with more articulations from the VI and Synchron(-ized) Series.
My advice: Go for the Synchron(-ized) Instruments: You will enjoy and like the more advanced player and the included features like pre-configured panning and matched volume as well as the integrated reverb and FXs.
