  • Synchron Special Edition volume 1 demos

    Hi to the forum,

I'm considering doing the upgrade from my Special Edition to the synchron version. In listening to the demo's, I'm very impressed by Guy Bacos' Chloe's Daydream, especially as there is no convolutioin reverb involved.

I'm trying to understand what demo's here that have been previously done using the special edition on this page, well, have these demo's been re-done/re-recorded using the synchron version, or are these the same demo's done by the previous special edition vienna instrument player version.

I'm referring to the demo's on this page https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Synchronized_Special_Edition_Bundle/Synchronized_Special_Edition_Vol1#!Demos

the Pavane, Coplands Fanfare for the Common Man, Symphony no 9, Dvorak -I recall the Dvorak was programmed by Jay Bacal previously using on the Special Edition but using the MIR reverbs - Rise with the Angels - is that done with the new Synchron player also?

thanks if someone can answer me here.

    best regards,

    Steve :-)

  • Hi Steve,

the "classic" demos have been produced with the VI Special Editions (the last ones in the list).

  • Thanks Paul,

actually, a little embarrassed here - I didn't realize I had posted this and sent you an email instead, so please ignore that!

Have to say, I'm very impressed by what Guy has done using the new synchron edition. Very very nice!

thanks for getting back to me so quickly Paul,

    Steve

  • HI again Paul,

    Hi again Paul,

the impression I get here is that with the "Synchronisation" of the samples, the idea is that positioning, and reverb are all done before hand so we don't have to have the worry about if we are getting the panning, reverb etc right,- we can get on an make music without all of these worries.

So, if we are using previous pieces that have been created using Vienna Ensemble setups, is it possible to, in some way, to transform a Vienna Ensemble player setup to a new "Synchron" player set up, with all of the same patches and matrices still being the same as the Vi Player, but now as a Synchron version, just as one can transform a Vienna Instrument Multiplayer, to a Vienna Instrument Pro version?

    thanks,

    Steve.

  • Hi Steve,

The Synchron Player is not using a Matrix anymore, so you'd have to adapt keyswitches and controllers. Also, the dynamic balance has been improved for the SYNCHRON-ized Special Editions.

Personally, I'd rather start a new piece before re-arranging a piece that I have been happy with before.

    Best,
    Paul
