  • Sibelius Soundset and Cubase Expression Maps for Dimension Strings III and SYzd Dimension Str. I-III

The VSL Soundset Installer for Sibelius has been updated. The "VE Strings" sound set now includes programs for Dimension Strings III and SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings I-III as well.

The Cubase Expression Maps for Dimension Strings can be used for Dimension Strings III too. No change was necessary here. There are new Expression Maps available for the SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings libraries.

  • Thanks Andi,

I am trying to use SYzd Dimention strings with SYzn strings at the same time with sibilius. Trying to play "mormal"

SYZn strings goes  full >  long > F # normal

SYZn dimension strings goes Regular > Long notes > F# Marcato (instead of sustain).

Is there a simply way to get these in sync.

    Dave

  • Hello Dave!

A combination of Synchron Strings and SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings works fine here. Maybe you have chosen the wrong instrument from the Sibelius "Add or Remove Instruments" menu for the SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings. Or maybe you have applied the wrong program on the Manual Sound Sets page.

What to assign exactly is written in the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual, page 16.

Here it is for your convenience.

For Synchron Strings use instruments with “[VSL Synchron Strings I]” at the end and Manual Sound Set programs with “Synchron” at the beginning of the name.

For SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings use instruments with “[VSL Dimension Strings I]” at the end and Manual Sound Set programs with “SYzd Dimension” at the beginning of the name.

  • Ok thanks Andi,

I fugured it out. I just thought that SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings would behave more like SYNC strings and

    SYNCHRON-ized Chamber Strings with sibilius.

For instance I can use one musical staff in Siblius to contoll both SYNC strings and SYNCHRON-ized Chamber Strings and then mix them to taste in VEP as all of there articulations seem to be in sync.

I realize that SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Strings are much more complex.
