Am I having the same problem? Just extended my instrument collection with an Alto Flute and Soprano Choir. At the same time updated my sound sets wit the latest version 1.0.131. Both instruments reject to sound in Sibelius, although they do in Instruments Pro (in Sib. everything double checked, system restart tried, re-installed twice, see screen dump).

Hello Jan Herman!
As far as I can see, your problem has nothing to do with the Soundset Installer. It can have different reasons why instruments don't play as supposed. Please check the Troubleshooting chapter of the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual.

Hi Andi,
I'm running the latest version of Sibelius Ultimate, 2018.4 and have been working well with VE Special Edition PLUS soundsets. My soundsets were installed using a manual process per the outcome of our exchange on this post: https://www.vsl.co.at/community/posts/m269298-Sibelius-8-and-windows-10#post269298
Fast forward a few months and I've now purchased Vienna Percussion. I understand that this library has its own soundset for Sibelius. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest VSL Soundset Installer v.1.0.131 (Win), but that didn't add the additional VE Percussion soundset in Sibelius. Is there anything I can do to install the VE Percussion soundset in addition to the VE Special Edition PLUS soundset I already have working?
Thanks!
Dave
Hello Dave and mikygongo!
I must confirm that the VSL Soundset Installer 1.0.131 for Windows doesn't work with the latest Sibelius version (Sibelius Ultimate 2018.4). We will provide an update as soon as possible. I have just sent you a mail containing the current sound sets and "Vienna Symphonic Library" house style.
As far as I know this problem doesn't exist on Mac computers. If anyone else needs the latest sound sets before we supply the update, please send an e-mail to support@vsl.co.at and I will send them right away.
Sorry for the inconvinience and best regards,
Andi
Hi Andi,
It seems that the saga continues. I've just had to reinstall Windows, Sibelius, and the latest VSL soundset installer for Sibelius 2019.1 build 1145 released on 2019-01-22. The VSL House Style is missing again. Can you take a look to see if there are any magical tweaks you need to do to fix it again?
Thanks!
Dave
Hello Dave!
I can't reproduce your problem with Sibelius 2019.1 build 1145 and the VSL Soundset Installer 1.0.154 here.
Did you indeed run the VSL Soundset Installer 1.0.154?
Which Windows version do you have installed?
Can you send a screenshot of the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Sibelius\House Styles after you have run VSL Soundset Installer 1.0.154?
Best regards,
Andi
Hi Andi,
Your response helped. I have my user folder on a different drive than C and the installer put the house style on the C drive. When Sibelius fires up it looks in my user folder on the E drive and doesn't see anything.
I copied the .lib file from the C drive to the actual user profile on E and now it shows up properly.
This sounds like it may be a problem with the installer not using the proper user directory placeholder. Thoughts?
Dave
