NO - using the download manager and following its progress until it said "FINISH" I had no error message.  I left all the default check marks as they were, except for the path, which I have a special one for all the VSL libraries.

Unavailable could mean a faulty download (i.e. missing files due to deifferent reasons) or possibly a path error.

Success I figured it out, Well first off it all downloaded this time. Nothing said unavailable so it all installed. Now this part maybe my fault and lack of time to read anything LOL.. So when i download all 28 gigs, Download Manager asks, Want to install?  I say YES!!  So it presents me with the screen to check all the boxes. Curiously the Package.info is not in there, BECAUSE its in with all of the other downloaded files. So what was happening is that at the end of download managers install DM would ask me, "Do you want to delete the downloaded files?" Of course i say YES!!!

But it deletes the package.info file to.  So when i would launch the syncron library installer there was no package.info to find as it was gone.

It just seemed weird that there was an initial  28 gig download then an install of 75 gig then run Syncron installer and it creates another file of 75 gig. Its probably my fault for not reading something LOL

Anyway it works. Thank you guys.. ORCH-ON Garth!!!

  • Hi liquidvienna,

    Congrats!

The reason for the smaller download is the compression we applied to the downloaded installation files. Those are extracted during installation and can be deleted once the crypted sample content is installed.

We will hopefully add a Standalone Synchron Player soon, to avoid such misunderstandings!

    Enjoy your Epic Orchestra 2.0!

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I have a similar problem. MAC OS X 10.13.6, Logic Pro X 10.4.4, the epic orchestra file downloaded and installed. The synchron player opens up in Logic, but no instruments available. In the general settings of SP, the database shows the correct path to the content, but I don't see any instruments to choose from in the "preset" area.

    Any hints??

You have to launch the Syncron Installer to "Register" (for lack of better terms), your new sounds with syncron player.

So, go to the Syncron installer in Applications. When you launch Syncron installer, it will ask you for the Package.info file. That file is located in the Temp files that were extracted after you downloaded the inital 28 gig. If you clicked Delete files after download then that package.info is in the trash.  If you didnt delete them then navigate to the location where they were downloaded and find the package.info file, the syncron installer will re-install the epic orchestra 2.0 files in a drive of your choosing. Yes you are basically installing these twice. They should now show up in the syncron player in Logic.

It may seem like a pain but the sounds are so cool i was totally ok with it.

  • Hi Schemen,

Your screenshot actually shows the correct data... vsynvolume files.

Please add a screenshot of your SP and your Database Settings, so I can check those.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul and liquidvienna,

thanks for the hints about installation. I followed those, launched the "Synchron installer app". Here I get a message that can be misunderstood: when I open the synchron installer app, I am told:

"You will be asked to locate the package.info file to start the installation of your Vienna Symphonic Library product.  Download....   DVD Collections...."

I assumed, as the text says, that "I will be asked" to locate the package.info file. In fact, I am not asked. There opens just a window with no question and no hint what to do with it. Only after the hint of liquidvienna, I knew that I already at this point had to locate the package.info file. What I did, and installed the whole Epic Orchestra 2.0 again.

But he fault sits elsewhere, as I discovered now: I didn't activate the EO 2.0 in the eLicencer, because I assumed, I would be asked to do so during the process of installing it. But that was not the case. No hint at all.

Paul, I think VSL should URGENTLY add a stop point in the process, where the software checks, if there are files, but not activated. And that we are told, to activate them, to get it to work. 90% of other software goes that way. To let me tap into this trap is no good idea!

But anyways thanks for your support! I'll have fun with the new sounds :-)

    Have a good evening.
