    Hi,

    I just want to understand how this works: I have about 512 different instruments, mostly in Kontakt in my VEP6 instance. When I purge them all my computer is using about 50GB RAM. Is that normal? What is using so much RAM when nearly all samples are purged, is that Kontakt instances alone?

    Are u using Mac or Windows?

    This makes a huge difference for me. Purging in my Windows slave does reduce the amount of RAM used. In my Mac Pro (master) it makes no difference at all. I don't know why.

    I use disable channels instead. That's the only way  I can reduce both RAM and CPU resources.

    I'm on Windows. I managed to reduce the RAM a bit by reducing voices in Kontakt and turning off some fxs, but still not sure what's using 40GB ram.
