  • Couple of newbie questions

Looking at a total overhaul of my setup.

Currently using Cubae 9.5 on Win 7 machine. All my VIs and plugs are on this machine.
Looking at getting a Mac mini as my DAW machine and to network with the Win machine for all VIs.
Been hearing mixed reviews about success using Mojave, a little apprehensive.

My VEP question is: I need to demo VEP before I go this route and have my license key for Cubase.
    1) Do I need a 2nd key to host (on my iMac for the test)
    2) Will my 2011 iMac running 10.9.5 suffice to do this test as a host?

    Hi Slinky 005,

    1) Do I need a 2nd key to host (on my iMac for the test)
    => Yes.

    2) Will my 2011 iMac running 10.9.5 suffice to do this test as a host?
=> You will need to use macOS 10.10 or higher for the current VE PRO 6 version.

  • Thx for the reply.

Ok so doing my test is out.
Judging from my research the app is very solid in general.
I was really trying to see if I personally encountered any issues in general.

Can you tell me if there's anything I will need to be aware of in this setup:

Mac mini 2018 running Mojave as host with Cubase 9.5 with Apollo Twin interface. (this is potentially what I will be aquiring).
Win 7 PC running all my VI's with RME Multiface II.
I would be using the UA plugins for tracking and mixing on the Mac.

    Thx.

  • Hi,

Sounds like a good setup to me.

You could also consider mixing in VE PRO on the PC directly, but that's a question of how you like your workflow.
