Hello,
Can we please have the option to selectively disable plugins? In other words, can we please have an integrated plugin manager. That would be really-really helpful.
For example, I have absolutely no need to anything but VIs in my instances as all EQ and dynamics desicions, reverbs, etc. take place in my DAW. Hence, I'd be happy to disable the majority of them. And although, VEP 6 does this it is only to an extend. Some plugin effects still appear on the input section (for example: Audioease Speakerphone, Fabfilter plugins, Izotope RX Monitor)
Also, I am in Mac OS X and for plugins that are both in AU and VST format, there is little point for me to see both versions (when both versions are installed).
I remember using Steinberg's VST Rack on PC back in the day and it could do plugin managing.
Further elaborating on this request it would be also be very handy if:
- The user could assign plugins as "Favorites" that appear on the top of the menu list when clicking on the input section of a track. Silly as it may seem, it will reduce four clicks to one click when, speed up my workflow quite a bit. It would be very handy for repetitive tasks.
- There were separate "Favourites" for the Input section and different for the FX section.
- The user could also tell VEP what is a VI and what is an effect plugin.
- There was the option to list all AUs and VST per category not only per manufacturer. For example, it would be great if I could tag which are Synths, Samplers, Drums VIs, etc. and list them accordingly in the input pop up window. If these tags where user defined then even better!
Other than that VEP 6 is great and worth the upgrade from 5.
Kind regards,
