  • PROBLEM: Installing Steinway D via Download Manager

    Hey guys,

I recently saw your Steinway D advertised, and I couldn't help myself but grab it. It sounds like the virtual piano of my dreams, and I can't wait to try it out. However, the last 24 hours have been much more frustrating than I could possibly imagine. I bought the full versions, and managed to download both the stereo and multi download files. HOWEVER, when I tried to use the Vienna Download Manager to install them, everything went to hell (pardon my french). It would continually crash after barely downloading more than 25 mb, and then I would have to restart my entire computer before trying again (since it wouldn't fully close, even from Task Manager). After doing this ~15 times (no joke) I FINALLY managed to get the Stereo one download and install (I don't know how, but it randomly worked). However, this morning when I tried to install the Multi one nothing would work. Even after another 15+ restarts, reinstalling the Download Manager, and trying running it as an administrator, nothing works. I am at whit's end, and incredibly frustrated. Is there any other way to download this? This is my first time working with Vienna software, and this is incredibly agravating (no other software or virtual instrument I've worked with has been this bad). Any help would be very much appreciated!

Also, for anyone wondering, I am installing this on an external SSD drive on a Windows 7 64 bit computer.

  • Hi John,

Sorry to heat about these troubles, it should of course be much easier.

Which SSD drive are you using, and how is it connected?

Any firewalls or anti-virus programs that might mix up our installation files with virus files (especially freeware)?
=> If yes, my suggestion is to go offline, deactivate those programs and install the files. Then go online again.
=> If that worked, please tell us which programs were blocking, so we can contact the manufacturers.

    Best,
    Paul
