  • Synchron Piano VST not recognized

I generally use Cubase and it found the Synchron piano VST dlls just fine.  However, I am having to use an older machine with Sonar X1 and it is not finding the Synchron piano dlls. It is not showing up at all as a VST.  Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Hi Mike,

Double-check which versions you have installed and whether the correct VST plug-in folder is assigned in Sonar X1.

    HiPaul,

I'm not sure what you mean by"which versions" I have installed.  I just installed the windows files that downloaded.  Also, It looks like the default folder which Synchron Pianos installed dlls to is C:/program files/Vienna Synchron Pianos.  I have directed Sonar to scan that folder but still the piano does not show up.  As I said earlier, it DOES show up in Cubase.  Very odd!

  • Hi Mike,

The installation routine shows you where the PLUG-IN (=*.dll file) is installed. Remember that path and assign it in the VST Plug-in folder preferences of Sonar X1.

So I need to reinstall to find that path? I’m way past the installation routine! What’s the name of the dll? I can probably just locate it via search, no? Mike

Hi Paul, I’m just going to uninstall and start over. At what point does it show me the path to the main program dll? I don’t recall seeing anything the first time. I really wish there were better ways of troubleshooting VI stuff. This forum process takes too long and it is often confusing because we cannot have real time discussions to resolve them effectively and quickly. I’m sorry to complain, but I have spent tens of thousands of dollars for your Software and wish there was better dedicated live support. Anyway, thanks again, Mike

    Hi!

If you have Cubase, you will find Vienna Synchron Pianos.dll in C: \Program Files \ Steinberg \ VSTPlugins

  • You don't need to uninstall... Just run the installation again.
