  • Hi Paul I’m on Mac OS Mojave

  • Yes I have had two crashes today and now It wont load my template.
I'm on Mac, it seem that the load speed goes down when it comes to the loading group data & setting up automation.

  • Hi guys,

Just sent you a PM with the next RC that will fix this. Please reply, we're doing quick checks here and will upload this build asap.

  • I can confirm the issues aforementioned on macOS 10.12.6

  • PC user, I confirmed that this version has a lot slower loading instruments time.

Glad I saw this before I installed the Mac update 😊

  • I get a blank window in Cubase when I try to load a new Rack-> Vienna Ensemble Pro. (VST2).

VST3 works, but I hate that workflow.

  • Hi,

Already fixed with VE Pro 6.0.17225 :-)

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

  • I did get the lastest.

    6.0.17225 (64-bit)

Still not working.  Will try again later

  • Hi SonicSonar,

What exactly is not working in your case? Did you try a restart yet?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Installed the latest VE Pro 64.

    Cubase 10 -> Load Rack -> VE Pro 64 (VST2)

    White window shows, can't select.

    Uploaded a vid ->

The VST3 works, but I don't like the 8x midi option. Only need one.

  • Hi,

Thanks. Now I know what you mean. We're trying to figure out what Steinberg has done to VST 2 in Cubase 10.... hope we can kick out an update soon.

Sorry for the inconcenience. Maybe you can make an exception and work with VST3 just for a little while?

    Best,
    Paul

  • I also get that blank box on Windows with Cubase 10; can only connect the option with the 3 dashes.

I'm a bit confused about the labelling when I open the "add rack instrument" box.

I have two options for VE pro: "Vienna Ensemble Pro" with 3 dashes after it, and "Vienna Ensemble Pro x64" without any dashes.

The second (faulty) option (Pro x64) is VST2 and presumably the "x64" means it's 64 bit.

Is the first option (with dashes and no "x64") therefore VST3 and 32 bit?

Only bought VE pro yesterday so I'm sorry if it's a silly question.

  • Hi Paul

Installed the update 6.0.17225. Runs fine on 2 of the macs, but the 3rd open my string template, but chrashes after some seconds or if I click on some thing.
Will you need any further information from me regarding this?
And let me just say that regarding your Black Friday discount I think all of us "old timers"/firstmovers are left a bit behind. I already have all the included libraries!

    1. Cubase displays these 3 dashes for VST3 plugins.
    2. VE Pro installs both a x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) version of the VST2 plugin. To differentiate these two versions they have the suffix. Cubase 9+ can only open 64-bit plugins, therefore only this option is listed in your plugin list.

  • Hi Paul,

the VST2 version of the Audio Input plugin is also not showing the interface in Cubase 10. I would like to work with the VST3 version, but the bypass function ist not working as expected:
In the VST2 version bypassing works as expected, but with the VST3 version the audio signal just gets muted completly when bypassing the plugin.

Is there a way to get this fixed?

    Best, Ben

  • My first venture into VEPro and was creating a new template. After installing and working things out, I began building my first template but have had several crashes and freezes during the process and again when trying to re-load saved server projects. I am trying to build a largish orchestral template, (its not as large as some I have seen), 20x16 instances of Kontakt.  I use a recently purchased MacPro with 64GB ram and 14 dual core processors. I am watching the thread closely as I was doing OK until the update. I also bought MirPro which looked awesome but I am unable to enjoy it whilst VEPro is so unreliable.

Whats the largest number of instances of Kontakt can yoou have on VEPro6 before the computer "moans" then falls over?

    Regards

    David

  • Damn. I'm trying without success to open my templace since this morning. I did the update for both VEP 6 and Synchron Player. I went back to the previous version of VEP and it seems it solved, but now I'm still having problem, so I'll avoid the update for Synchron Player as well and hope for the best.

  • Hi Paul,

Can't load latest project without crashes after updated VE Pro.  I sent support 2 crash dumps.

    Best wishes,

    Jay

    Hi!

Thanks for all your reports, we are currentyl looking into these exceptions.

Hope to have all of this fixed early next week.

It is always safe to roll back to VE PRO 6.0.17011, you will only need to update if you want to use Synchron Power Drums within VE PRO.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

    Best,
    Paul
