Sorry for my complete ignorance but I was given VSL EssemblePro 6 by my wife on my suggestion and I really have no idea if it really is what I need. First let me explain my need and then a pointer in my configuration would help as well
I have a DAW...sadly a SSL/Soundscape system. It runs on a WIn 7 32 computer. I also have a WIn10 64bit Lenovo X1 carbon laptop that runs Cakewalk Sonar X3 and my VSTi's (Addcitve Drums, some synths and NI Komplete.) I really only use the Cakewalk Sonar to program Midi for drums and keyboard sounds. I wanted VSL EP6 to port the audio outputs of Cakewalk to my DAW so I did not have to buy some USB audio interface to run digital audio into my Soundscape. I I thought EP6 would pipe digitally the audio over the gigabit connection from the Laptop to the other and hence into the Soundscape DAW.. Yes the Soundscape supports VSTs. Then after I recorded the audio within the DAW, I could then use laptop and its additional VSTs plugins within the SS/Daw.
Am I assuming this will do this? The install manual is not really clear on that configuration. If so, then which computer is the Master and which one is the slave? Do I need a elicense key for both computers?
In time I would like to eventually get into the instruments part and use that as well. But first I need to get all this set up.
Sorry this is so newbie oriented, but VSL is a mind spinning vast in its capabilities.
Thanks for any help.
