  • [Solved]Synchron-Player-Bug, which VSL-Support just refuse to take care of

When I use Expression maps (no matter if I use my own or the one VSL provide for Download) All programmed settings not only programmed for the Expression map but also every other programmed CC-Setting is only effective during the playback. As soon the Playback stops all settings jiump back to sero.

This is not the case with the VI-Instruments i use in the same project so it is obviously a problem occuring only with the Synchron player.

I contacted the VSL Support. First Answer: "not our problem"

After indicating that this is not the Support a high end-Producrt deserves

second answer ( only a few minutes later): "After short test with our Map can't reproduce the problem"

So I must realize, that VSL-Support just refuses any serious in depth Problem research. 👎

Thats why my last hope is if here is mybe anyone who expierienced a similar problem.

  • Did you check your Cubase midi settings?

Hey great you are definitly a way more serious than the VSL-Guys since you at least try something reasonable. 👍

    But ...

sorry, I also found this Option very early:

    - the General Option in the Cubase Setting is not checked so this could not at all be the reason for that behavior.

-there is something similar in the Expressionmap-Settinmgs called "Latch-mode" which causes a set back when a midievent stops when this Latchmode would deactivated but meanwhile it was checked (what means settings should not be set back,) Synchron-Player nevertheless sets everything back to zero. I've even tryed both with this option checked and with this option unchecked, without any change in the Synchron-Player.

It is as I said, the problem does not occur with VI no matter if it is on the Sequencer or on the same Synchron Slave-PC as the Synchron-Libraries:

That means under exactly the same circumstances VI acts correct, Synchron-Player does not.

And imho the VSL, Siupport just neglect its duty completly. Asking for no Detail at all, asking not for the Prokject data ...........simply nothing. pure ignorance 👎😠

    OK Paul just mailed me

    1) the solution (Expression maps containing only "Attribute Articulations" do need at least one empty Slot to keep the current settings of the playbackposition even when the Playback stops. So the Solution is quite easy just add an empty slot in the Expression-map if you only use Attribute Articulations and everything works fine.

    2) the reason why the support did not tried to analyse and solve the Problem earlier, they have been simply to busy with other things.

I would just suggest, better let me next time honestly know if you need some more days to find time to solve that problem than simply trying to get rid of with answers like "not our problem" or "cant reproduce the problem". That this was simply not true has proved Paul, since the expression map I already sent in my first Support request was suddenly obviously enough to reproduce, analyse and solve the problem.

In short: If you want your customers understand you - dont try to get rid of them, - simply be honest.

Thats the only way to make things easier 😃.

Thank you Paul to finally provide the Support I was looking for👍
