  • [SOLVED] Vienna Ensemble problem

    Hello,

    I have Vienna Instruments Pro installed on an iMac with the most updated version of Sierra and it works perfectly.

    I just installed Vienna Emsemble (latest verstion with latest library installer) and I get the message that it cannot open because of a problem.  My license key is also updated.  When I installed it, I only installed Vienna Ensemble, and not Vienna Instruments, becasue I figured that I did not need Vienna Instruments, since I have Vienna Instruments Pro.  Could that be the problem?  Do I need to install Vienna Instruments too, even if I use Vienna Instruments Pro?

    Any suggestions as to fixing the problem would be appreciated.

  • Hi Mike, 

    You don't need VI if you have VI PRO, in general, but maybe your song contains VI instances, so it could be a good idea to install VI, just to check.

    Thank you for the resoponse.  I tried a re-install with VI and I get the same message.  I tried opening both the 32 and 64 bit applicaiton and they both say:

    "Vienna Ensemble  cannot be opened because of a problem.  Check with the developer to make sure Vienna Ensemble (64 bit) works with this verson in macOS.  You may need to reinstall the applcaiton.  Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS"  

    I get that message without the (64 bit) part when I try to open the 32 bit version.

    I am currently running macOS version 10.12.6 and have everyting else updated.  This one has me stumped.

    Any thoughts?

    I just did a re-install of VI and VE and all is well now - no problems.
