Dear Andi (I'm assuming! :-)
Is there a way to switch between regular piano and prepared piano in the same score without creating a new instrument and editing it within Sibelius?
Thanks!

Hello JL!
There are different ways to achieve that. I would do as follows.
- Add one piano to your Playback Configuration.
- In Vienna Ensemble load an instrument with the according preset for the piano.
- Add the Prepared Piano matrix.
- Click the "ksw" button underneath the matrix list. It should be blue and say "prg" then. You can now switch between matrices with program changes.
- You can switch between matrices from Sibelius with program change commands. They have the following syntax:
~p1 for program change 1
~p2 for program change 2
...
- If you want to change between different prepared piano patches as well, you can add keyswitches.
~Nxx,64 followed shortly by ~Oxx,64
These are MIDI commands for Note On and Note Off, where xx stands for the MIDI number
of the Keyswitch. (12=C0, 13=C#0, 24=C1, …)
Instead of writing MIDI commands for the keyswitches, you could also write the notes and hide them.
Best regards,
Andi
