Why Edit Sibelius Files in another Sequencer!

Hi all,

I currently use Sibelius 8, VEPro 5, VIPro 2 and most of the VSL full libraries. 

I understand using sequencers such as Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, DP etc. have much better (understatement) and efficient ways to work with MIDI data compared to Sibelius.

However, what exactly can the above listed sequencers do concerning MIDI editing that Sibelius CANNOT do (no matter how cumbersome it may be in Sibelius) - baring in mind I only use VSL libraries with VIPro and all its wonderful humanization features. I also make my own natural tempo maps in Sibelius and often use the 'live' settings (dynamics/timings). I also enter midi controllerdata  using 'overdub' in Sibelius for each instrument.

It seems you have solved most (all?) of the problems with using a sample library within Sibelius. I initially wanted to use VSL within Sibelius, but found it too cumbersome, so now I use Sibelius for writing a score, the use VSL libraries with Cubase.

The advantages of using a DAW would include greater control (for me, you might have solved this) of CC data and various mixing options. Sounds to me like the world would benefit from a YouTube "how-to" video showing how you handle the articulations and the CC data.

All details about how to trigger the various articulations are listed in the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual. As there are far too many different articulations, it makes more sense to have them listed in a manual than to show them all in a video.

Control changes can be added as a text command in Sibelius with the following syntax:
~Cxx,yy
xx stands for the MIDI Controller; yy stands for the value
