  • Albinoni: Sinfonia No 8. Movement 1

This is a realization of the first movement from a Sinfonia by Tomaso Albinoni. I wanted to explore using the Detache Short samples for moderately fast sixteenth note runs and arpeggios. You can hear those mostly in the first violins and some in the second violins (beginning about 7 seconds in). There are other articulations used, but for the first violins it's mostly Detache Short.

I think the articulation worked well here, and I admit to having neglected it in the past.

Overall, I think the realization is ok, but I started to run out of fuel near the end, and I think you can tell it. Also, the ending of the actual piece segues into a short adagio of a few measures long. I didn't realize that part, so the weak ending is my adaptation and not Albinoni's.

    Realized with Chamber Strings Full.

  • Very beautiful, Leslie!

I really like the energetic interpretation and the close, almost intimate chamber sound without much reverb. This is how I like chamber music best! Excellent use of the chamber strings.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations with the performance.

Marevelous! At about 1:40 thing got a bit rough, but still a terrific performance. Isn't it amazing how well baroque music holds up, even today after sopmething like 300 or 400 years.

  • That sounds just about perfect!

  • Energetic, spirited performance!  Great job, Leslie!
