    I've been setting up a template to route some audio tracks into MIR.  I'm using Cubase 8.5 and have set up my FX channels correctly to route the audio into MIR and it's working great! yay! 

    But, just a "best practices" question.  If I have two audio tracks, should each of them have their own FX channel routing to MIR or can I use just one FX channel and route them both through that?

    EG. In the Vienna Ensemble Pro Mixer:

    Clarinet audio in1/in2 and accordion audio in1/in2    OR   clarinet audio in1/in2 and accordion audio in3/in4

    MIR's basic concept relies on the idea to give every "voice" in a room its own position, much like in real life. So ideally you will have an individual Icon for each signal source on the stage of a MIR Venue.

    That said, please be aware that using more than just a handful of Audio Inputs to VE Pro will possibly wreak havoc on the CPU, especially with more recent versions of Cubase and Nuendo and low latency settings. This is due to the fact that VE Pro's "Audio Input" plug-in has to play dirty tricks to get real time audio out of the DAW, without the latter actually "knowing" it. 

    The most elegant work-around would be to use MIR Pro's VST plug-in version directly in Cubase instead, bypassing the need for audio routing _into_ VE Pro altogether. The (small) downside of this approach is that you will have to deal with a second MIR GUI.

    Sidenote: You can easily interchange setups of MIR Pro between VE Pro-based version and the plug-in version. They are called "MIR Pro engine settings".

    Thanks Dietz.  I'm only using 2 audio inputs maximum right now and I like having all my instruments and audio input on one MIR stage. I haven't noticed any issues with latency and CPU processing.

    Hi Dietz..

    Is it possible to use more then one MIR-Vst Plugin in a Cubase-Projekt?

    Will be there one Time a Solution for better integrating VEPs in Cubase (latency compensation/routing..)?(!)

    I'm not sure whether I understand your questions or not. 8-)

    Of course you can use as many MIR Pro VST-plug-ins as your computer is able to process. They will all share the same Main Window and appear as "Icons" on the same MIR Venue.

    As far as MIR Pro VST plug-in version is concerned, there's hardly anything that can improved routing-wise, as it is just that for Cubase: A plug-in. :-)  

    MIR Pro allows for zero-latency processing since quite some time now. Be aware that convolution is still a quite demanding task, though, even for modern CPUs - so please don't expect to run hundreds of instances then like you would with larger buffer sizes.

    (... just a few years ago we brought down even the most powerful DAWs with just a couple of convolutions, so things indeed _are_ better nowadays. ;-) ...).
