  • Server not Connecting

Anyone know why VEP 6 server address has recently switched from the default 192.(something) to 127.0.01?  VEP 6 server won't connect anymore.  It's been running without any problems since it came out.  Nothing has changed on my system.  System specs: Intel I7, 2.24 Ghz, 16 GB Ram, Windows 10 64 bit, Forcusrite 2i2.  All drivers and versions are up to date.

    Thanks,

    Aric

  • Hello Aric,

The IP address for the server on your master machine is always 127.0.0.1

  • OK, It's still not connecting.  The notes are greyed out.

  • Hello Aric,

Do you have any severe firewall settings or AV programs installed? If yes, disconnect from the internet and switch them off, just to see if this is blocking the connection.

  • Did that already.  I should mention that I have two machines that are virtually the same.  I'm am now getting the error "The requested virtual instrument plugin could not be found" when opening Finale 25.  Nothing has changed on either machines.  The only thing that has changed is the host address n VEP server.  It used to start with 19XXX.XXX.  I don't remember exacly but now both machines now display 127.0.0.1.  When I click on it nothing happens.  It won't even let me create a new address.  Any other thoughts?

  • Hello Aric,

If you VE PRO plug-in cannot be found, I'd suggest to install the software once again and make sure that the correct VST Plug-in Folder is assigned in your DAW's preferences.

You can also send me screenshots of your network settings on both computers to support@vsl.co.at, and include a quick reference to this thread.

  • Thanks for your help Paul, I will do that.  In the mean time, I'm going to uninstall Sonar, Finale, and VEP and reinstall them.

    Thanks again,

    Aric

  • Paul, I was able to get everything to work.  I had to reinstall everything including midi drivers, finale, sonar and vep.  I also had to delete all registry key relating to those programs.
