Thanks Mike! The challenge of using samples really for me is in the upper harmonics in loud passages. There's some harmonic distortion that I've yet to fully get under control without doing damage too the timbre. That's why I wrote the piece, to understand how to maintain the round, sensuous, clear sound I want when the harmonies are complex and the dynamics are loud. The upper harmonics become complex and using EQ to remove them has its limits. I've tried a 2dB dip at 1k and it helps, but probably needs a little more work.
