Hi all
I am trying to install VEP for the first time and am totally confused due to some fundamental information missing from the manuals.
Q1 - I have received an activation email with three license keys. Am I correct in assuming that each of these is for a master and two slaves so I should put them on separate elicensers?
Q2 - I plan on running a master with my DAW and 2 slaves which will host my samplers. Do I need a license for the master as well as the slaves?
Q3 - with 2 slaves do I simply start a server on each and connect from my DAW to different instances on each via their IP address, so I effectively have two servers running simultaneously?
Thanks for the assistance with this. I'm new to VEP and am struggling to understand the hidden details.

Master Slave license confusion
-
Hi windyweekend (nice nickname, are you a windsurfer/kitesurfer?),
I´ll get straight to your questions:
Q1: Yes.
Q2: You need a license for every computer you want to run a VE PRO SERVER on. If you don't want/need a server on your master computer, the VE PRO plug-in that connects to your slave computers will not need a license to run.
Q3: Yes. If you like, you can also run 32 and 64 bit VE PRO Servers simulataneously (nice to have if you still have a few plug-ins that are only available in 32 bit).
Hope that helps.
Best,
Paul
