At least that's how I can bring my imagination to life: what fun it would be to play a woodwind quintet in a huge beautiful space like the Teldex Recording studio! :) I just got MIR and I have to say that is my favourite sounding space!
I re mixed and mastered my husband's woodwind quintet "Euphoria" in the Teldex. I'm sure a quintet would not normally record in a huge space like this but I'm just excited about the feeling of space I can get with this.
Would love to know your thoughts.
Here is the new version using Symphonic Cube woodwinds & french horn (no extended library), MIR Teldex: https://soundcloud.com/carovillano/euphoria-remastered
This is the old version with a different reverb plugin: https://soundcloud.com/carovillano/euphoria-for-woodwind-quintet
I also re-mixed and remastered his "Inertia" (chamber violins, piccolo, flute, oboe, bassoon, contrabassoon, brass, piano) to try using Vienna Ensemble Pro for the first time to get instruments from different libraries all into the same instance of MIR. I tried mixing the Appasionata strings that came with VEPRO into this version too. Thanks for answering all my questions at the starting stages!
Here is the new version using the Neuer Saal. To maintain the clarity I really fiddle with the dry/wet settings both in MIR and MIRacle: https://soundcloud.com/carovillano/inertia-remastered
Here is the old version to compare: https://soundcloud.com/carovillano/inertia
Thanks for your feedback and assistance! This is a big learning curve but the end results are worth it!
