I am trying to create a few insances of 7.1 channels, but also still have flexibilty to route indivual mono channels into Stereo, or 7.1 buses. Is this possible?

Although I've been able to get 7.1 channels to work, I am unable to have other channel configurations existing side by side. I can only create groups of 8 channels.
