  • Cubase and Vepro setup guide

    Hey all,

Ive recently changed from Logic to Cubase and am having some problems getting started.

I'm on a 30 day trial with cubase and i wanted to set up a smallish template. all my samples are stored on three slave macs and l have cubase loaded on my master mac, Ive watched a few videos on youtube and have managed to set up 16 chanels in cubase coming from 1 instance on one of my slaves. Everything works great i'm seeing some real advantages in cubase!!

Now my problem comes when l want to add more channels, in logic l would create another instance and off l go simple, but from what l've seen, this is not the way to do it. From what l understand you use fewer instances loaded with more channels??? So this is where my issues are, l'm not sure how to do this! I've messed around with the event input which i thought was working, but when l played back the sounds in cubase nothing triggered although i could play them on my piano controller! So l'm guessing this is not the correct way or l've assigned outputs wrongly!!

    Any advice would be awesome!!

    Cheers...

  • Hi,

Did you check that you are loading the VST 3 version of VE PRO ("///" is the sign for VST3 in Cubase)?

Then you will have multiple MIDI Ports available (depending on your settings in the VE PRO Preferences), and each MIDI Port offers 16 MIDI Channels.

    Best,
    Paul
