  • Can't get anything to work

Ok, so I've tried contacting support and they make it sound simple, but how do I use the player? I just bought epic horns and I got it registered, got the acivation on my dongle. I downloaded all software (that I'm aware of). I downloaded the Vienna ensemble, my library. But When I open ensemble I have no idea how to access my library. I open my vienna ensemble (just trying to get it to work as a stand alone right now). Then I go to preferences, and then I go to plugins, but my epic horns plugin is not listed. I then click on VST settings at the bottom, and point it to where my library folder is. Then I click scan/rescan all. But my library never appears under the "instruments" section. What is going on? Why am I having so much difficulty?

  • You're not supposed to do anything in the preferences to load the library.

    1) Go to "channel" and then choose "add VI Pro" (if you have purchased the Pro version of the Vienna Instrument software) or "add instrument" (if you only have the free one that comes with the library).

    2) An instance of Vienna Instrument appears. The sample patches are loaded in here.

    OR:

Look at the bottom left corner of Vienna Ensemble, there are some icons you can click. Again, choose "Add VI Pro" or "add instrument" depending on what version of Vienna Instruments you have

    OR:
Press "CTRL + SHIFT + N" or "CTRL + N" (or whatever the Apple equivalent of CTRL is) - again, depending on the version of VI.

Loading of libraries, setting up patches, controllers etc. within Vienna Instruments is explained in the documentation. Also take some time to watch the Vienna Instruments tutorial videos on the product page, they're very informative!

I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything but did you install the library?  You should have a library installer in your user area (I think) download it and run it to install the library.

I recently switched over to a brand new system and noticed the same problem you're having with one of my libraries.  After doing all kinds of troubleshooting, it turned out, I just overlooked installing the library.

After installing it the directory manager scanned automatically directing Vienna to the correct drive on my computer.  That's how it should work anyway.

  • Yea, I did install the library. I just loaded it in the standalone and am using it in cubase like that. The interface looks nothing like what I've seen. But it works. So...
